This game isn’t quite an MMORPG, despite what it says on the game logo. Yes, you play online with others as you battle across an open world environment, but because there are only three different open-world islands you’re confined to and each island has a small group of players on it.
Evil Lands is perfect for mobile gaming. You get in, get some loot, and then you can dip back out again without too much hassle or commitment. It does this by focusing on the gameplay and having a small scale – there really isn’t much else to do than that!
Brace yourself for the ultimate RPG experience. You can pick a character from three archetypes – warrior, mage or an assassin and jump right into a whole new world with quests to guide you. Level up by completing missions and go on to explore this vast and wondrous environment.
That’s right, there is a shortage of quests in Evil Lands, which means you will often find yourself forced to kill monsters to gain more levels.
There are only 10 quests to take on in the first of the three islands, so it’ll be quick to complete them.
One great thing is that you can earn gems, the premium currency. You can eventually spend this on chests that shower you with loot. They’ll take a long time to save up for, and we’re not entirely sure it’s even possible to get the most expensive chest with just one.
It’s great that loot also drops from monsters, because this game would be really difficult without getting some better equipment. Unfortunately, we haven’t dug into the drop rates of items yet so can’t comment on how expected it is to get the best stuff without paying.
However, without paying will likely become a serious issue if you plan on playing a lot of PvP. Players with plenty of cash to spare will likely spend their time here, mowing through poor hapless free players who can’t afford to get the mightiest axe.
